January 5 was for many comapanies in Hakata, the first work day of new year. People are waiting in line in Kushida Shrine, to pray for their business success. It’s amazing that this shrine is very quiet with a few people usually, but this day, so crowded !! Kushida Shrine is founded in 757, and since then, has protected Hakata merchants. It also playes an important role during Hakata’s most popular & traditional festival, Yamagasa.
