Now the very season has come to get guys in Hakata excited! That is Hakata Gion Yamakasa!
It is held from July 1st to July 15 every year at Hakata, Fukoka City’s old town area.
The climax of this festival will start at Kushida Shrine, Hakata at 4:59 am on July 15th, Sunday.

This year I will take you to the secret good spots of watching Yamakasa where only Hakata-born and -raised guys like me know on that day without any charge! I do it voluntarily. The details are below. Please let me know by e-mail for your participation.

1. Title : “Get together to see Hakata Gion Yamakasa!- Yamakasa Tour for tourists”
2. Date & Place to get together : in front of the big hakata doll statue stood at Hakata Station at 4:30 am on July 15th(Sunday). We will wait until 4:35 am to go.
3. Language: English & Japanese ( some of us can speak English including me)
4. Fee: no charge. This is for free. We would like you to know Hakata. That’s why.

At the end of the festival, every Yamakasa shrine is destroyed by guys carrying it with full energy. One man is standing in fron of the shrine to guard it.
