What is Furusato Antenna Shops?

Furusato Antenna Shops (Chiho Bussan Kan in Japanese) are a Satelite food shops, of distant prefectures, mainly dealing with unique local food.
Today they attract many Japanese people, by offering the mood of food culture experience, or even trip, by making very local mood.
To understand this, let me note that Japanese people enjoy food culture especially when they travel, for each prefecture has its own food with its agricultural condition, and to taste it is the great preasure!

What you can find at Furusato Antenna Shops?

1. Variety of special, unique local food, you cannnot find in common stores.
(You can even try some of them !)
-lunch box, canned food,
-sweets, such as softcream, cake, cookies,
-drinks, such as local sake, shochu (distilled spirit), juice, sweet

2. Restaurant and Cafe
-You can enjoy original, local menu without traveling.

3. Travel information
-You can get travel information, of course.

Most exciting Furusato Antenna Shops I recommend are

1. Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza

Hokkaido is the northest prefecture (island) of Japan blessed with beautiful nature, and Hokkaiod Dosanko Plaza offer high quality milk, batter, cheese, potato and seafood products.

It’s in Kotsu Kaikan Building in front of Yurakucho Station.
*Check my another report for detailed access and information.

2. Shinjuku Miyazaki Kan KONNE

Miyazaki prefecture is perhaps the most booming prefecture in Japan, thank to Miyazaki governor Higashi Kunibara, who’s formaly been a TV character.

Today Miyazaki Kan KONNE is now getting even more popular than ever, with lots of people visiting to get local chiken, special lunch.

It’s in southern exit side of Shinjuku, `Southern Terrace’. To get there, get off at Shinjuku statinon (JR line), pass through Shin Minami exit. On your way to Shinjuku Takashimaya Department store, you can find it on your right side, just the other side of Starbucks.

3. Iwate Ginga Plaza

With 300 square metre floor and 1,800 variety of products, you can experience whole Iwate! It’s next to Ginza area, oppposite side of Kabukiza in Higashi Ginza (Easten Ginza).
You can check the map of Kabukiza here!

Exception
Most luxurious one in Ginza would be Zarai Oita.
Very near to Kotsu Kaikan Building, too!

Now you can travel all over Japan (in terms of food!) staying in Tokyo.
