This is Hakata Port, which has 2,000 years of history, is especially well known for the cultural trading between China, that the national treasure Gold Seal (Kinin) were given to Na, the old country of Japan.

This means Hakata Port has been the gateway to Asia since 2,000 years old. Actually it’s the oldest artificial (man made) port in Japan, made by a lord Taira no Kiyomori.
The present Hakata Port opend in 1899, with more than 2 million people pass this port. Well but of course, It’s not only people that Hakata Port is bringing in and out.

TOYOTA LEXUS are also shipped from Hakata Port. (There’re two LEXUS factories in Japan, one is in Toyota city in Aichi, and the other is in Fukuoka. Today Kyushu island is called `Car Island’ for having several huge automobile factories!)

From Hakata Port, you can travel to Iki-island, Tsushima-Island, Goto-Island in Nagasaki, to Shikanoshima-Island, Noko-Island of Fukuoka city, Busan in Korea (Have you ever known that from Hakata Busan is closer than Hiroshima? ) and ports all over the world, or just enjoy cruising around Hakata Bay.
