Ueno Park 上野公園
Located directly near Ueno JR Station and one of the biggest parks in Tokyo , is Ueno Park. It is especially known for it’s Sakura blossoms in springtime. But that’s not the only thing you can do there. Ueno Park offers many different activities and is therewise often very full , especially on the weekends.
Every single person will find something they like. You can vistit many museums , The Tokyo National Museum , The National Museum of Western Art , The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Science Museum and the Shitamachi Museum.
Furthermore there is a zoological garden attached to Ueno Park , called Ueno Zoo. It is very popular with kids and the entrance fee is 600 Yen for adults and kids under 13 years of age have free entrance. The opening hours are 09.30-17.00 whereas the last admission takes place around 16:00.
People with religious interest will also find some nice places. The area provides Shrines as t , The Tosho-gu jinja, Daikoku-do jinja, Hanazono Inari Jinja and a five-storied pagoda and many more.
You will also find many places to relax and to just enjoy the sunshines through the trees. For people who like sports it will also be a loving place, as you can do walking , jogging and lots of things more! On the weekend it is also possible to enjoy the music of different street performers or even clowns.
