Jisho ji temple (Kyoto)-Ginkaku ji- “Kodaman’s J-TRIP”

When people hear “Jisho ji temple”(慈照寺), many of Japanese don’t know it. It’s because this temple is called ” Ginkaku ji temple. “Ginkaku” means “Silver pavilion”. Now Jisho-ji is a temple but it was actually villa constructed in 1482. The styles of each floor are different. 1st floor is a drawing room style and 2nd floor is Zen style.

There is a mountain called “Tuki machi yama.”( the mountain of waiting moon.) The garden is very interesting because this garden uses Tuki machi mountain as a part of this garden, when we look at a garden,a pond and Tuki machi mountain from Ginkaku.

This is one of 17 architectures as a world heritage”Histolic monuments of ancient Kyoto.”
