Peace-Loving Japan in a Confrontation?

No doubt about it. Japan is a peace-loving nation. Gosh, for that matter ever country wishes for peace, don’t they?

But, Japan, even more so. Pick a confrontation about anything anywhere and ask a Japanese person what should be done. They’ll say, ‘Let’s have peace.’

But, what about when peace is not possible?

When are confrontations necessary? Ever? When might Japan or a Japanese person consider calling someone out, having another country ‘fess up to wrongdoing, misdeeds?g8summit.jpg

We might have something.

Japan has used the B-word (boycott) with regard to China and the way Beijing is handling Tibet. Now, Japan is considering putting the matter on the agenda at the G-8 meeting which Japan will be hosting, one month to the day before the Beijing Games kick off.

Does Japan have what it take to face up to its giant neighbor?

I am interested to see how this will all play out.

Maybe Japan is NOT always peace-loving.

What do you think?

Almost 20 years in Japan. Loved every minute of it. Well, almost every minute.
