WING Takanawa
Takanawa WING or, as some people call it, WING Takanawa, is the latest in a long line of full on entertainment options in the area around Shinagawa Station.
Home to dozens of restaurants and cafes, a magnificent aquarium in the shape of the Epson Aqua Stadium with its very own dolphin show, a multi-screen cinema and both outlet (discounted) and upmarket shops and boutiques, there truly is something at WING for everyone.
The facility is right across the street from the west exit of the main JR station (Yamanote, Keihin Tohoku and shinkansen lines), next to the now closed but once popular Keihin Hotel so although ultramodern still manages to work in a degree of local history.
Of particular note in the local history department is the presence of several very old shrines in the streets around WING-the perfect respite should the senses need a few minutes R&R.
