Tokyo Bay

During the Tokugawa shogunate, people in Edo brought fishes out of Tokyo Bay and ate them. Sushi was originally called Edomae which literally means “from Tokyo Bay”. Therefore, the bay has been important for people in Tokyo for a long time.
