Hakuba Hifumi Hotel 白馬ひふみ

This japanese style hotel is placed in the middle of the winter resort city Hakuba.When entering the hotel , you’ll find the reception and the lobby , consisting of a typical heated japanese table and a tea room . It still gives away the japanese feeling and it is very beautifully arranged. You’ll find everywhere little details.It is also possible to dry the ski clothes in a seperate room . You will be able to choose between a normal and a special room. These special rooms are individually arranged and have also different names. I stayed in the room called Hina. It consists of a japanese style living room , with tatami mats and a japanese table, and the dormitory , bathroom and balcony with own onsen , from where you can see the snowylandscape. The staff is concerned about every little detail in the rooms, that is why you surely will feel very comfortable and pampered. The rooms are very neat and have beautiful interior .The hotel staff is also very nice and tries to make your stay as comfortable as possible , wherewith I had no problem with as I surely felt fantastic. It is possible to enter the hotel own public bath , one for women and one for men .IT really is a nice experience, as you’ll be able to take a look at the snow outside while taking your bath. There is also a transport service, which will pick you up in the morning and bring you to the lift and send you back in the evening. Dinner is japanese style, although I think , beeing in the country itself , you have to try it out. And it was delicious!For breakfast ,on the other hand, you will be able to choose between japanese and western. . I chose the japanese one and it was ,like dinner, very good.Also if you are looking for souvenirs , you will be able to buy them in the hotel itself,mostly specialities from the prefecture itself. Hakuba - This little city must surely sound familiar, as it was the place where the Winter Olympics 1998 took place. Snowboarder and Skier will love this place . The “real” ski season begins around 21th december and ends around april although you’ll already see some people there before the season , skiing. There lots of areas you can ski in and of course other outside activities as rafting, canoeing, fishing, paragliding, mountain biking etc. are beeing offered. There are various hotels and japanese style ins and it is often very difficult to find the right place. But I recommend you the Hotel Hakuba Hifumi , a japanese style hotel. I have gone to Togakushi in Nagano Prefecture in this summer. In Togakushi, a lot of nature and ‘Soba’ are famous places. ‘Soba’ eats here is very delicious.

The Togakushi Shinto shrine is a famous Shinto shrine.

In the approach to a shrine, there is a woods of a splendid Japan cedar. A very old, solemn air flows in the Japan cedar.
