Hakata (an old merchants’ town in Fukuoka prefecture) is a FOOD PARADICE, and is especially famous for… `Tonkotsu Ramen’, the noodle with pork bone soup !

Out of many many Ramen shop, ICHIRAN is very popurar, for its home made delicious taste, hospitality of staff, and the unique system to enjoy Ramen.

This is ICHIRAN @ Canal City Hakata (B1F), which is the only place to offer lunch box type of Ramen.

Ramen shops used to be men’s space, ’cause they’re usually very small, not clean. Actually, women haven’t been welcome.

But ICHIRAN certainly changed that, by offering seperate devided table, and also, by handing out the order sheet, so that customers have no need to announce what they’re going to eat aloud. (which really make us shy sometimes, especially when a woman wants to have another cup of ramen ! ).

This is it. Now you are free from anybody’s eyesight, and can enjoy Ramen !

ICHIRAN is friendly not only to shy Japanese women, but to international visitors.

See? There’re English, Korean, and Chinese version of order sheets.

This is the vendering machine, for you to order Ramen and any topping, to make your Ramen unique.

This tells you vacant sheets. `空’ means empty.

There’re several ICHIRAN Ramen Shops in Fukuoka, so when you visit Fukuoka, why not trying ICHIRAN Ramen?

`Japan has four seasons’ is a very common plain sentence when people introduce Japan, which should also be explained as, Japan has four seasons to enjoy different seasonal food!

Not only beer and shochu-on-the-rock, cool noodle is the main summer food for lots of Japanese people, or even Messiah for those suffering from the crazy heat wave.

This is Korean style, and is called reimen, meaning cool noodle usually topped with egg, roast pork, bean sprouts, tomato, and cucumber. The soup taste sour (of vinegar) and sweet.

This is somen, vermicelli noodle made of kneaded wheat flour, stretched into thin strips using vegetable oil. Price is usually around 1,000 yen.

To enjoy cool noodles, try either noodle restaurant, Japanese, Korean or Chinese restaurant.
Also Japanese people eat these cool noodles mostly as lunch.
